One Step Closer— Committee of the Whole Meeting Tonight

1–2 minutes

On May 11, the Kendall County Board’s Planning, Building, and Zoning Committee reviewed the draft Comprehensive Plan and advanced it to the County Board Committee of the Whole meeting on May 14 at 4 p.m.

Committee members appreciated the economic development aspects of the plan and recommended several updates to further strengthen those efforts. Key recommended changes include:

  • Modification of the definition of Transportation Corridor to remove residential and emphasize industrial opportunities.
  • Addition of areas for commercial and transportation corridor use along Route 126 between Grove Road and the Village of Plainfield on the Future Land Use Plan.
  • Addition of areas for commercial use along Ridge Road at Plainfield Road and at Route 126 on the Future Land Use Plan.

The draft plan and updated maps have now been revised to reflect these recommendations and are available on the project website for public review.

Following the Committee of the Whole meeting, the Comprehensive Plan will move to the County Board for final review and adoption. Stay tuned!
